Rowan and Darren got married in December 2022 at GG’s Yard, Gatehouse of Fleet, in the South West of Scotland.
Rowan said:
“We really did have the best day ever! After a 3-year engagement and one postponement due to Covid it was completely worth it. We are both international teachers with friends literally all over the world and it was so special having all of our family and friends in one room for a day. I honestly don’t think I would change a thing – even the minus degree December Scottish weather!”
Rowan knew she was going to preserve her wedding flowers before she got married, and had a look around at the options beforehand.
“My friend, Jem, used your service. I really wanted to do something with my flowers but didn’t like the resin type designs that other companies use.”
When I received Rowan’s beautiful wintry bouquet made by To a Mountain Daisy (Lucy Little), I couldn’t wait to get started with the preservation process. There was such a stunning mix of textures that I knew were going to leave beautiful impressions in the clay.
“My friends have used Lucy for their weddings and her flowers are so amazing and exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something Christmassy and wintery but also elegant and simple.“
Rowan and Darren decided to have a set of three wall hanging tiles made with their wedding flowers, as well as a medium square vase for their new apartment in Dubai. They also had two small round vases made for their families. Each piece is completely bespoke, with their wedding date and initials stamped into the surface.
