FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I send my wedding flowers or other special flowers to you for preservation?

Usually inside a box with enough packaging such as kitchen roll or tissue paper to pad out the box works well – enough so that if the box is shook, the flowers cannot move around. Please get in touch for more information on my flower preservation service and where to send flowers to. I accept flowers from all over the world!

Alternatively, if you are local to Northamptonshire you would be welcome to drop your flowers off in person. It would be lovely to meet you!

Do I need to book to have my flowers preserved?

No, I will always fit everyone in. Once you have enquired and received my price list and information, please follow the steps in my guide for sending your flowers and be sure to include your name, contact details and a note of what you would like making with any personalisation.

Do my flowers need to be fresh for them to be preserved into ceramic keepsakes?

Ideally, the fresher the better as the stems peel back out of the clay easier and in one piece. But I understand that it is not always possible for flowers to reach me in their freshest state and even wilted or ‘gone over’ flowers still make the most gorgeous impressions – so much so that you would never know that they were not fresh. I have worked with 8 year old dried, crispy bouquets, and also pressed flowers which still work well in my process.

When do I pay for my flower preserved pieces?

Once your flowers are received at my studio, I will send you an invoice for payment before your order is started.

How long will my order take to be delivered?

If you are purchasing a stock item from my online shop, orders will be processed and delivered within 3-4 days. If you would like to order a specially made custom/personalised piece, delivery is usually 3-4 weeks but can take up to 6 weeks during busy periods. Please check before ordering for accurate delivery times.

Do you offer a gift wrap service?

All pieces are delivered wrapped in packaging and brown paper, with a ceramic gift tag tied around the package, making them ideal for giving as gifts or the tag can be reused with other gifts as a keepsake. I do offer the option of including a hand written message on a brown rustic gift tag that can be included with your order – Just send me a message with details when ordering.

Ordering multiple pieces from my website

Please ask for a combined shipping total when ordering more than one piece, as in most cases it will be cheaper to pack the items in the same box.

Do you ship overseas?

Yes, please contact me for an accurate shipping cost. Shipping prices on this website are for UK only.

Is the work suitable for keeping outside?

I use a stoneware clay which, combined with a glaze for protection makes most pieces suitable for outdoor use/display. I have had pieces of my work out in my garden for years (ceramic stepping stones, ceramic wall planters, and large vessels), and they have survived even the very cold frosts.

Can I visit your studio?

Studio visits can be arranged by appointment.

Do you offer ceramics classes?

Yes! My workshops are suitable for people of all ages and abilities. Please view my upcoming workshops for more details and how to book.
