Since getting engaged on Christmas day last year I am not embarrassed to admit that I have become slightly obsessed with weddings! *blush*
I was never the type of girl to dream about the big day, what my dress would be like, and all the little details down to colours and themes. But now that I know it’s actually going to happen, I have turned into a bit of a wedding geek!
I have recently been visiting wedding fairs for inspiration and ideas, and have thought about making a lot of our decorations, table centre pieces, favours, invitations etc myself. I love the idea of making something for everyone, and thought of handmade ceramic heart shaped favours with each guest’s names on. I think it will add a nice personal touch and kills two birds with one stone – being a name place setting as well as a personalised souvenir for guests to take home.
I’ve made a few samples for ‘Bride’ & ‘Groom’ and set them up on our dining room table to see what they look like. Since these samples were fresh from the kiln last week they have had a lot of interest already. So much so that I’ve decided to try out some wedding fairs myself, and am currently working on lots more personalised wedding themed decorations.
The first fair you’ll find me at this year is the ‘Old, Borrowed & Blue’ Wedding Fayre on 26th April 2015 held at Nettle Hill, Brinklow Road, in Ansty near Coventry (postcode CV7 9JL).
These wedding favours can be personalised with any name, word or date, with or without lace detail. I’m currently working on an order where the bride has requested the favours to be turned into brooches which is a nice idea.
If you or anyone you know is getting married and is looking for something different with a personal touch for wedding favours, please feel free to contact me to discuss your requirements. I love talking about weddings!!
You can also browse the wedding section of my website where you can place your own personalised wedding orders.
