Overview of 2014

I’m so happy to say that 2014 has been a year to remember. When I look back on all of the different things I have achieved, I can’t stop smiling!

I am so so excited for what the future holds, and would like to thank everyone who has supported me, and continues to encourage me along my journey.

My biggest achievement of 2014 was buying my first home and setting up my studio in the garage. It was all 100% worth the wait and I couldn’t be happier right now!

All of the house excitement appeared to have made me go into a ‘house obsessed frenzy’ as I focused on perfecting my own style, adding to my collection of ceramic houses which began in 2013. These have been extremely popular and all unique one-offs were sold out!

My second biggest achievement of 2014 was organising and running a Macmillan Coffee Morning, and raising almost £800. A fantastic day that I’ll never forget!

I’m always grateful for my work to be seen out and about, so have loved having pieces displayed and sold in different galleries throughout the UK during exhibitions. Here are some of my favourite displays;

I was really pleased to be involved with two different school projects this year. I made these holly leaves as part of a children’s mosaic project for a school in Cardiff. The finished mosaic will be ready in the New Year, I’m so excited to see it.

My ceramic wind chime making technique was used as inspiration for a children’s school project in Moorhead, Minisota, USA earlier this year. You can read the full story here.

I challenged myself with a project of my own in the summer. A drawing a day for a whole month. This was a great way of expressing creativity on paper to help with surface decoration ideas for my ceramics. If you are a crafts person or maker I recommend doing this at some point!

 2014 has got to be a year with the most custom orders and commissions. I have loved creating pieces to certain specifications…
