Christmas Craft Shopping Experience 2013

Charlotte's ceramics display

Wow, the time flew by on Sunday! I had a great day at the Christmas Craft Shopping Experience in Warwickshire. I gained lots of happy customers and a lighter car on the way home!

Before the doors opened at 10am, I enjoyed a delicious breakfast up on the balcony restaurant that overlooks the hall. It was great to have 30 minutes to relax after setting up my stall and before the customers started to stream in at 10am. There must have been people queuing up outside as there was a long stream of customers entering straight away.

This event is always so well organised, and now in it’s 5th year is growing with more visitors each time. I have exhibited at this colourful and buzzing event for the past 5 years and have enjoyed seeing it develop – in particular seeing how other returning exhibitors work has grown and evolved.

I managed to have a quick look around but unfortunately didn’t have time to take photos of other stalls… When I left my stand for 20 mins my ‘shop keeper’ had a flurry of more sales! I did manage to sneak a few pictures of my stand during the quieter period, probably while customers were enjoying a roast turkey dinner up in the restaurant 🙂

Kitten Von Mew

There was live music from the talented Kitten Von Mew keeping us all entertained with Christmas classics, and definitely getting customers in the festive spirit! It was great having her right next to my stand.

Bowls and vases seemed to be the most popular pieces on Sunday. Thank you to everyone who came to support me, and who bought from me. As always, it was lovely to catch up with other stall holders, and to meet some new faces too.

As well as over 100 stalls selling quality handmade products by the designers/makers themselves, this event also hosts a Santa’s Grotto and craft making area for children, a fantastic restaurant with snacks and full meals, reptiles to hold, craft demonstrations, bell ringing, and not forgetting the two fluffy alpacas 🙂

CCSE 2013

I love setting up my display of work, deciding which pieces to display next to each other, but really dislike taking it all down again. Thankfully this was made so much easier with a generous pair of helping hands, which meant I could get home faster and make a start on orders and admin from the day.

Looking forward to returning next year already!
