What a year!
Firstly a huge thank you goes to everyone who has supported me this past year. It’s such a great feeling being able to enjoy doing what I love, knowing that so many people like the work that I create.
I have concentrated hard on my website this year, which must have worked because I’m pleased to say it has been my best year so far for online sales. (Thank you!)
I was published in a few magazines & newspapers in 2013, including:
- Gift Focus
- Village Connect
- Craft & Design
- Herald & Post
- Simply Homemade
This was extremely exciting and is even more exciting knowing that I have more features to come in the New Year, which include the likes of Ceramic Review magazine!!
I didn’t get as much ‘making time’ as usual throughout 2013, due to other important things going on, but when I was busying myself in the workshop I created a new product line for CHC – Ceramic Houses. (All sold out – more to come in 2014!)
I attended six craft fairs and took part in the following exhibitions;
- Miniature Magnified at The Beetroot Tree Gallery, Derbyshire.
- Fired at The Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester.
- Spring Pop-Up at West Ox Arts Gallery, Oxfordshire.
I gained five new stockists in the UK;
Mango Juice Gallery in Worcester.
The Gift Box in Warkton, Northamptonshire.
All Things Clay in Brackley, Northamptonshire.
The Blossom Shop in Woodford Halse, Northamptonshire.
Calladoodles in Surrey, London.
My display and overall appearance of my work was improved with some wooden crates. So simple, yet so effective – I don’t know what I’d do without them now.
I took part in a special collaboration project to help design a wedding horseshoe with some of my ceramic charms.
I was invited to the second SBS winners event and saw Theo Paphitis again, where I enjoyed networking and experiencing a very exciting and motivational day.
Some new designs were introduced to my range of vases;
I was very lucky enough to enjoy two amazing holidays to Cape Verde and Thailand where I gained tonnes of new inspiration for my work – to follow in the new year!
As always I can’t wait to see what the next year brings. A new year, a new start. There are already lots of exciting things planned for 2014, my diary is filling up fast.
Happy New Year!
