Uses for Ceramic Bowls

I love hearing what people say they are going to use a piece of my work for when they buy from me at a fair. I often ask if the piece is going to be a gift or for themselves, which gets further conversation flowing and works quite well for market research.

I thought I would put together a collection of pictures I have taken of some of my bowls and dishes, to show how and what they could be used for.

I love the idea of a bowl being used for holding wedding rings on the big day . . .

Bowls don’t always have to be functional. They can be displayed empty to admire the surface pattern and details, or filled with decorative objects such as pine cones, pebbles, shells or pot pouri.

How about using a flat ceramic dish as a trinket tray or for displaying jewellery?

Here are a couple of other functional ideas for ceramic bowls and dishes that I found below. I love the colour of these pastel turquoise trays that have been used for storing kitchen bits and pieces. And isn’t the yarn bowl a great idea?
