*Giveaway* Tickets for Christmas Craft Shopping Experience

How would you like to win a ticket for two for FREE entry into this years popular Christmas Craft Shopping Experience event at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre on Sunday 2nd December 2012?

I have four tickets to give away, remember each ticket entitles free entry for two people so you could bring a friend or family member along too.

I have been an exhibitor at the Christmas Craft Shopping Experience for the past 3 years since it first started, and I always look forward to it as my favourite event of the year. With over 100 stalls full of top quality handmade items, this is a Christmas shopping event not to be missed!

For your chance of winning a ticket for two, all you need to do is ‘like’ both Facebook pages Charlotte Hupfield Ceramics and Christmas Craft Shopping Experience. Then leave a comment on my page saying that you have done so, and also what you like about buying from handmade fairs. What does it mean to you to be buying handmade rather than from High Street shops? What type of products do you plan to buy or look out for at craft fairs and who do you buy for?

Any or all of the above questions can be answered… Four lucky winners names will be drawn from a hat at random and the winners will be announced on 21st November.

Don’t forget to click ‘like’ on both Facebook pages so that we can identify the names to be entered into the hat and to be able to contact you for your address if you are a winner.

Please help to spread the word about this fantastic event, and good luck!

So we should be fully moved in by Friday! I’m looking forward to setting up my new workshop and starting on some new ideas that are patiently waiting in my head at the moment!

I’m featured at The Creative Place!

I’m pleased to have a featured interview with images of my work at The Creative Place today. Every week on a Thursday, Ashley kindly shows interviews by different artists, designers & crafts people on her inspiring blog. I’ve been a huge fan of The Creative Place for a while now. Ashley also posts some amazing tutorials, one of which inspired me to make my handmade journals a few weeks ago. To view my interview, click here to read more about me as a person, my Etsy Shop & how I promote it, my creative process, what inspires me, my goals, the challenges I sometimes face, and lots more! I really enjoyed writing the interview and the questions made me think about why I do what I do. I think it’s a good exercise to do for yourself every now and again!

I’m double pleased today because I also received these earrings in the post from a giveaway I won by Tracy of Cinnamon Jewellery. Thanks Tracy – I’ve been wearing them all day!

They came presented in an adorable little organza bag, wrapped up in colour coordinated tissue paper with a cute sticker. It’s nice to see how other people package and present their items, I think it makes all the difference.

Giveaway Competition – Win a handmade plaque!

I can’t believe its been a year since I started my blog. I remember writing my first post, unsure of what to write about and how my blog would develop. Look at it now – you haven’t been able to shut me up! I’ve really enjoyed looking back on some old posts, its been a great way to document what I’ve done, what I plan to do, my experiences, inspiration, and I’ve also met a lot of interesting people.

Thank you to everyone who follows my blog (I now have 200 of you!). Also thanks to anyone who has ever left comments, featured or mentioned me on your blog, and promoted some of my posts. I really appreciate you all – old or new.

To celebrate my ‘blogiversary’, and also gaining 200 followers, I have decided to run a giveaway!

The winners will each receive a customised handmade ceramic plaque with any engraved wording, pattern, texture, and colour of their choice. You can even choose the shape of the plaque – round, heart, rectangle, square… And the engraved wording can be absolutely anything. Please also specify which colour string you would prefer to hang the plaque up – either brown or cream.

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me how you would like your plaque designed. There will be 2 winners! Anyone can enter, I’m happy to ship worldwide.

To be in with more of a chance to win, you can also do some or all of the following;

  • Become a follower of this blog if you’re not already
  • Mention this giveaway on your own blog
Winners will be drawn using the random number generator and announced on Wednesday 18th March, so you’ve got until then to comment, get tweeting and blogging! I will make the 2 winning plaques straight away, and they will be decorated and fired in the kiln. The plaques will be posted out to the winners in April. Good luck everyone!

I’ve been short-listed, please vote for me!

Wow, I can’t believe my Organic Tree Bark Vessel made it into the short-list in the Handmade Olympics for Event 1 – ‘Favourite Handmade Goodie with an Innovative Design’. I’m so pleased, thank you so much to everyone who voted for me.

Now I’m going to ask another cheeky favour! If you like my work, I’d be even more grateful if you could take a minute to vote for me in the final poll. When you get to the Rikrak Studio blog by clicking ‘vote for me’ above, scroll down past all 11 images, you will see my Organic Tree Bark Vessel is 6th down in the list. Keep scrolling down to the end of the images and you will come to the voting poll. Please leave a comment to let me know if you vote and I’ll try and return the favour by doing something nice for you – perhaps featuring your work on my blog.

For extra special features you could also mention my Organic Tree Bark Vessel in the Handmade Olympics and ask people to vote for me on your blog, or tweet about it on Twitter! :)

Don’t forget there are 8 different short-listed events to vote for (I’m in event 1). These are just a couple of the other products I voted for;

Favourite Handmade Goodie For Kids (Event 2)
Indoor Play Tent – Moozle Home

Favourite Handmade Eco-Friendly Goodie (Event 3)
Old print renewed – Oldrenewed

Handmade Olympics

I’m taking part in the 2010 Handmade Olympics, and you can too, its fun!

It’s all being run by the Rikrak Studio, where the handmade world comes together to celebrate making handmade items. Its easy to participate – all you have to do is click on one or more of the 8 different events and nominate a designer/crafts person or their work which you think deserves to be mentioned in that category. You can even nominate yourself if you want to. There are some amazing prizes to be won if you take part. Have a read of the rules on The Rikrak Studio’s blog and start nominating!

I have been cheeky and nominated myself for the “Favourite item that inspires loveliness & wellness” (event 4), and I’m going to be even cheekier and ask you to vote for me too! If you like my work and the thought behind it, please nominate me for this category or any other that you think my work fits into. I’d be extremely grateful! You can choose from any of my work for sale on my website or a wider selection at my Flickr account. Thank you so much!

I nominated my Terra Cotta Structure. This piece was handmade in response to nature and growth. The way it was constructed reminds me of a tree trunk, growing upwards and outwards in an organic form. What I love about nature is its unpredictability – you never see two marks, patterns, shapes or forms exactly the same, and it is this particular aspect that my ceramics connects to. This Terra Cotta Structure was decorated in a generous and loving way. It would make a lovely focal piece sitting in your home or garden to admire or use to hold dried sticks.

Giveaway Competition – 100 Followers!

Firstly I’d like to thank those of you who follow my blog and find it interesting enough to read!

I reached 100 followers yesterday, and to celebrate I’ve decided to run my first giveaway competition. The winner will receive a handmade ceramic turquoise magnet, a decorative shiny red hanging ceramic star, and a cream & brown handmade ceramic brooch with engraved hearts.

The brooches look great as decorations on your handbag, as well as on your jacket.

To enter the giveaway, all you have to do is follow me if you aren’t already, leave a comment on this post telling me what you like (or even dislike!) about my work, and suggest any new items that you think I should make. Oh and leave a link to your blog/shop etc so I can be nosy :)
To make it fair all names will be entered into the Random Number Generator. You have until 23rd November to enter, and the items will be posted out to the winner that week. Good luck!
