Weedon Craft Market Oct 2013

I had an enjoyable and successful day at the Weedon Craft Market yesterday. Despite the drizzly wet weather, we were warm and cosy inside the village hall and had unlimited access to tea and cakes!

Since it had been a few months since my last fair, I was very excited to be showing some of my latest products, and hearing lovely feedback from customers.

A huge thank you to my friends and existing customers who came along to see me, and also for purchasing some goodies! It was also nice to see some familiar local faces, and to meet new people to stay in touch with (hello to Katie at Blue Butterfly and Steph from Scruffy Dog Silver! *waves*)

I was lucky enough to borrow some vintage wooden crates from my stockist Ali at The Blossom Shop in Woodford Halse again – I really must get some of my own for my next fair before Christmas. I love the rustic look of wooden crates and think they compliment my work really well, along with the wooden log plinths I made (above).

My Christmas pudding decorations were popular yesterday, and with a box of them sent to a customer in Australia last week, stock is running fairly low so please place your order as soon as possible if you would like some!

Getting out there with your products and chatting to customers is a great way of generating new ideas, by listening to what they would like to see. I already have a couple of new ideas in the pipeline from a conversation had yesterday 🙂

As well as decorative artificial flowers and sticks, I used real flowers with water to display in some vases – it helps customers to see that they are suitable for this purpose, and also makes my stall smell divine! These little bud vases below looked cute sitting on top of one of the crates. I sold the green vase (including the flowers!) but the square blue vase is still available.

I’m hoping to collect much more inspiration to influence new design ideas from my travelling trip around Thailand in the next few weeks. I’m sure I will have a lot to share with you on my return, but please remember that any orders placed via my online shop between 17th Oct – 15th November 2013 will not be processed while I am away. All orders will be dealt with on my return to ensure you receive your goodies in plenty of time before Christmas.

Until next time . . .
