Trip to Stratford
On Saturday me and Dave went for a day out in Stratford Upon Avon, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the UK, and birthplace of William Shakespeare. The weather was absolutely baking, and there were hundreds of people about. I last visited Stratford when I was little so didn’t remember it much. It is definitely one of the most beautiful and relaxing places I’ve been to, and would recommend it if you’ve never been. We ate a picnic on the grass alongside the river and watched a rowing boat race with people dressed in funny costumes.
The highlight of our day had to be the ride down the river in a rowing boat, although we almost crashed plenty of times! While Dave was rowing, I had to pull on 2 different ropes which were attached to a paddle under the boat, and were supposed to be used for steering, but I didn’t realise I was pulling the wrong one for ages, which meant Dave was rowing one way and I was pulling the rope in the opposite direction! No wonder we almost crashed!! But it was fun.
We also really enjoyed the Butterfly Farm. I got loads of inspiring photos inside the farm, and will share those with you tomorrow…
There was also, unfortunately, a downside to our day… Dave’s sunglasses fell in a pond when he was leaning over to feed some fish
