My Nans House & Crochet Squares
I spent last Friday with my nan and took a few snaps around her house showing some pieces of my work that she has bought from me previously. If she visits me at a craft fair she will always insist on buying something even though I tell her not to! She has made a good display with 2 of my vases either end of her mantle piece, the striking blue flowers really show off the bands of cobalt in the vases.
She also has 2 of my sculptural vessels displayed at the bottom of her fireplace, as well as a vase on a table in her hallway, a butterfly bowl in the middle of her dining table, a letter rack on the kitchen side, and other bits and bobs I made when I was at college…
Bless her, it’s nice to know she appreciates the things I make enough to show them off around her house.
She is currently making a blanket and has started off by crocheting these squares. They will all be attached together at the end to form the blanket. I’ve asked my nan to teach me how to crochet soon, I really appreciate the work that goes into it and I’d love to be able to do it myself. I wouldn’t have a clue where to start at the moment though!
