In The Workshop . . .

pine tree coasters in progress

It’s great to be back behind the work bench, getting covered in clay and creating some brand new work. I can often ‘just pop out for ten minutes’ to fiddle with something and then end up staying out here for hours! With a constant supply of tea, of course 🙂

Some new pieces are finally taking shape and I’m so excited to get everything finalised ready for firing. Lots of work is being specially made for galleries and exhibitions coming up, but don’t panic – there will be plenty of new stock items going into my shop too.

The line of clay cottages is growing fast… I am currently waiting for these to dry out a little more before decorating. With the weather being quite cold, clay isn’t drying out with a great deal of speed which is ideal for me at the moment as it means I don’t need to rush. It’s me waiting for the clay for a change! A slow drying time also means cracks are less likely to be formed.

cutting out

I’ve been beavering away until it gets dark lately… Thank goodness for the extension lead giving me access to light and heat!

Remember the magazine features I was included in last week? Here’s another one to add to the list… I’m in the current issue of Ceramic Review magazine – wowee!

That’s my vase and a letter to the readers published on page 80 🙂
