It’s been a busy week…

With a short trip to France last weekend where I went trekking in the mountains of the Alsace region, it was a very tiring but amazing visit. The weather was perfect, approx 32 degrees, with beautiful blue skies. I loved the little French houses painted in pretty colours with different coloured window shutters and flowers – right up my street. The party in the log cabin next to a lake in the woods has to be the highlight of the trip.

The weekend before last I visited London for a day trip. Again the weather was really good… I’m loving summer! We enjoyed some delicious food and after visiting the centre of London and having our character portraits drawn on the street, visited Camden Town. This was my second visit to Camden – the first visit last year was cold and wet during winter so it was lovely to see it in comparison this time. The markets in Camden are a must see, and you can’t leave without haggling with the stall holders!

As well as enjoying some lovely trips and seeing some exciting things, it’s been busy busy busy in the workshop. It had seemed like forever since my last kiln firing, so I really enjoyed creating a new batch of work.

The kiln was fired last week, and as always, it was so exciting to see the results of some new pieces I had been working on. As you can see from the pre-glaze firing photos, no space is ever wasted in the kiln! I even often make pieces specially to fit into some of the gaps to use the space 🙂

New pieces have been added to my online shop where you’ll find organic hanging heart decorations, some more organic decorated ceramic panels that I thought it was about time I stocked up on, new bowls, *NEW* quirky ceramic houses – so excited about these!, and lots of new vase designs.

Enjoy . . . I’ll leave you with this gorgeous sunset, taken whilst being driven home on the motorway last week.
