Autumn

The autumn chill is definitely in the air, it will soon be scarf weather! I’ve noticed the colour of the leaves on the trees turning all different shades of red, orange and yellow. It’s funny how some leaves change colour quicker than others. Although it is starting to get colder, we are still having the odd ‘warm’ day – on Sunday we ate lunch outside wearing t-shirts, that is quite strange for October!

I’ve also noticed how much darker it is in the mornings, making it harder to get up out of bed. The transition from warm to cold weather means that we will be spending our first full winter in our new house – it will be cosy! Yesterday I planted some plants and small trees in the garden that my Nan gave me, and arranged lots of pots. The garden is taking shape now, I’m looking forward to seeing it covered in snow.

My favourite thing about autumn is the crunchy leaves on the ground under your feet…

Whilst on the subject of autumn, I will be at a Harvest craft event at Whilton Locks garden centre 23rd – 24th October. Alongside my ceramics there will also be stalls selling handmade jewellery, wood, organic farm produce, pickled products, cheese, vineyard and cakes. This is my local garden centre that we visit every other weekend, and it always gets busy so it should hopefully be a good weekend. If you are in the area next weekend please feel free to drop by!

  1. Lovely autumn photo's. My favorite time too, though not easy to get out of bed as its so flippin cold out there, still not quite bad enough for the heating, holding off as long as poss.
